About Lyndon Christian Church
"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Colossians 3:17
Lyndon Christian Church is a non-denominational church from the Restoration Movement heritage. As such we believe the Bible to be the Word of God and to be our ultimate source of authority for all issues concerning faith and religion.
Taking our cues from the Bible, we are an elder led church which means that the elders provide oversight, vision, and guidance to the corporate side of the church and most importantly the spiritual side of the church.
While the elders provide oversight, Lyndon Christian Church also believes in returning the ministry to the people. As the Bible teaches that every Christian has been imparted spiritual gifts for ministry, Lyndon has consciously tried to involve every member in the work of the church's ministry for Christ. As the Ephesians 4:10-11 teach, "He gave the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teaches to equip the saints for the work of the ministry."
The primary equipping and teaching is done by the Senior Minister Rich Hoyer and the Family Minister Jim Bowyer through preaching and teaching on Sundays, Wednesday nights, and at other times. However, in keeping with the mandate to equip all Chrisitans to minister other members who are gifted to teach do so as well.
The goal in all that we do is to glorify and please Christ and fulfill our mission "to transform both churched and unchurched people into completely committed Christians."
